As of today, December 20th 2025, California residents can still order compliant AR-15 accessories and barrels from online retailers and have them shipped directly to their home, provided the build complies with state law. Starting January 1st, 2026, these rules will change significantly.
Accessories such as pistol grips, adjustable stocks, and flash hiders will require full identity verification, a signed acknowledgment form, and strict shipping protocols. Many online retailers may stop shipping these items to California to avoid the added compliance burden and liability risk. We at ABCSportZ will no longer offer these items to California Buyers.
Barrels will no longer be available for direct shipment. You will need to purchase them in person at a licensed California gun dealer and go through a background check, just as when buying a complete firearm.
Additional clarification: these new laws do not affect 80 percent lowers or unfinished receivers. Those parts have been regulated since July 1, 2022 and already require purchase through a licensed vendor with a background check.
We here at ABCSportZ follow all California laws and will fully implement the new requirements on January 1, 2026. Until then you can continue to order compliant accessories and barrels with standard shipping. After this period we will no longer offer these items covered by this new law shipped into CA.
Barrels will be available only through in-state licensed dealer transfer or local pickup. We will not offer them for sale to CA buyers.
